This year, Travel Creations has continued with its legacy of empowering the girl child in the community by educating them. We are sponsoring 3 girls in Starehe Girls’, AIC secondary school and Moi Girls’ high school. These are bright needy girls who need our support for a brighter future! Last year, we sponsored Hannah Wanjiku from Starehe girls who attained an excellent A- and Rahab Nyawira from Le-Pic primary who qualified for Moi Girls High school. We wish all of them a bright and sucessful future. We are also doing something special this year. In today's world, education is essential for progress
in all spheres of life. Education is a vital tool for
escaping poverty and thus giving one independence and
economic freedom.
 |
A
good education is essential for a better quality
of life for all children. The girl child should
never be left behind since it is a fact that educating
girls results in positive social benefits for the
current generation and those to come. |
An
educated girl tends to marry later and have fewer children
who will be more likely to survive and they will be
better nourished. Additionally, the children will also
be better educated thus ensuring a successful life for
them. The girl child will be more productive at home
and better paid in the workplace. She will be better
able to protect herself against HIV/AIDS and to assume
a more active role in social, economic and political
decision-making throughout her life.
Travel
Creations aims to get more girls into school. We envision
a world where the girl child is equipped with a good
education to succeed in later life. In support of this
worthy endeavor, we started the "Educate a Girl
Child" in early 2006. For every customer booked
at Travel Creations, we shall contribute $ 1 towards
this project.
| We
have also been able to support childrens'
homes and Camp Lukenya which is a camp that offers
young people an opportunity for spiritual encouragement
and growth, recreation and the chance to meet new
friends. We remain committed to our community and
take our social obligations very seriously. |
